Great food, everything was great especially the Japchae, probably the best I've ever had! Service was friendly and professional, all the staff member seemed very nice and helpful! Love the cozy and comfortable atmosphere, exactly what I expected from a family-owned Korean restaurant! There were many North Western staff and students there eating as well, and they look like regular customers. I had eaten at a lot of Korean restaurants, this is definitely Top 5! Will definitely go there again! Highly recommended!

I had the bibimbap with beef and beef bulgogi. Both were delicious. I also think that the miso soup was a great addition too. However, my bibimbap came with ground beef. I personally prefer the longer pieces of beef with that sort of dish. I also wish that they had more of a dessert menu. They only had ice cream available today. I think having Korean sweet treats would be a great addition to the menu. The flavor was great, and the food came out fast. I had great service. Will definitely be coming back ☺️

Delicious Korean food! We were in Evanston and this was the perfect dinner on a chilly evening. We ordered the rabokki, the sundubu with beef, and the 10 mini fried veggie mandu. The rabokki was so spicy and rich, while the sundubu was piping hot and packed with soon tofu. The banchan was good too

First time at Soban, but many many Korean restaurants around the entire Chicago area. My standard first time item is (yuk guy Jeng) Yukgaejang, which is a spicy soup with shredded beef, green onions and green bean sprouts with glass noodles. It is hot and spicy, and it helps me determine if the food is authentic. My wife always eats the Dolsot Bibimbap, rice crispy in a stone bowl and cooked veggies and a fried egg, and a selection of different meats, shrimp, tofu, etc. Both dishes were outstanding and served hot and delicious. I ordered both dishes before the waitress brought the menus, but she came back to the table the make sure I knew my dish was hot and spicy. Maybe this white guy doesn’t know what he’s ordering, πŸ˜†πŸ˜†? I thought it was funny. When the food was brought out they didn’t think we wanted the Kimchi, so I did ask for the Kimchi. Maybe they get a lot people who don’t know Korean food? We will return to this quant little restaurant in Evanston. Tap on the thumbs up πŸ‘ below before you leave.
